La souris - mouse

It is colour coded to represent the difference between masculine words (blue) and feminine words (red).

Each word is written twice to help the children remember the difference between LE, LA, L’ (the) and UN, UNE (a).

This a countable noun.

La souris est blanche. The mouse is white.

Combien de .... y a-t-il? How many ... are there?
Il y en a ... There are ...

Combien de souris y a-t-il? How many mice are there?
Il y en a sept. There are seven.

NB As souris already ends in an 's', there is no need to add the plural 's'.
