It is colour coded to represent the difference between masculine words (blue) and feminine words (red).

Each word is written twice to help the children remember the difference between LE, LA, L’ & LES (the) and UN, UNE & DES (a/some).

Cheveux is usually written in the plural.

des cheveux hair

Tu as les cheveux de quelle couleur? What colour hair have you got?
J'ai les cheveux bruns. I've got brown hair.

Je me suis fait couper les cheveux. I've had my hair cut.

NB Don't forget that 'cheveux' is always plural.
