Les petits pois - peas

It is colour coded to represent the difference between masculine words (blue) and feminine words (red).

Each word is written twice to help the children remember the difference between LES (the) and DES (some).

This a countable noun although it is usually only used in the plural.

le petit pois the pea
les petits pois the peas
un petit pois a pea
des petits pois some peas

beaucoup de petits pois lots of peas

De quelle couleur sont les petits pois? What colour are the peas?
Les petits pois sont verts. The peas are green.

Combien de .... y a-t-il? How many ... are there?
Il y en a ... There are ...

Combien de papillons y a-t-il? How many butterflies are there?
Il y en a sept. There are seven.

NB Don't forget the plural 's'.
