GRAMMAR
In English we tend to ask for things without mentioning the person we are talking to.
Example: Good morning, I'd like some bread, please.
In France, they tend to acknowlege the person they are talking to.
Monsieur (a man)
Madame (a woman)
Mademoiselle (a much younger woman)
Example: Bonjour, Madame, je voudrais de la confiture s'il vous plaît.

There are several ways of saying ‘some’ when meaning a portion of something.
For feminine words (la) you would use ‘de la’

Exemple: Je voudrais de la soupe.
I’d like some soup.

C’est bon! It/that tastes good!
