NB 11th NOVEMBER IS "ARMISTICE DAY" WHICH IS A BANK HOLIDAY IN FRANCE
The armistice treaty between the Allies and Germany was signed in a railway carriage in Compiègne Forest on 11 November 1918.
This marked the end of the First World War on the Western Front.
