Months of the year, in French, are written with a small letter.
Remind the children that the French do not use the little letters th, st, nd and rd after the number.

C'est quand ton anniversaire? When's your birthday?
Quelle est la date de ton anniversaire? What's the date of your birthday?

C'est le 19 avril. It's 19th April.
Mon anniversaire est le 19 avril. My birthday's on 19th April.

NB 1st APRIL IS "ALL FOOLS' DAY" OR "APRIL'S FOOL DAY"
In France it is called "Poisson d'Avril".
French children sometimes tape a picture of a fish on the back of their schoolmates, crying "Poisson d'Avril" when the joke is discovered.
