Each word is written twice to help the children remember the difference between LE, LA, L’ (the) and UN, UNE (a).

Combien de trains y a-t-il? How many trains are there?

NB Don't forget the plural 's'.

Making sentences plural in French

Le train est violet. The train is purple.
Les trains sont violets. The trains are purple.

NB The plural ‘s’ is added to the noun and the adjective.

est is

NB Colours come AFTER the noun and have to agree with the noun they describe.
