Each word is written twice to help the children remember the difference between LE, LA, L’ (the) and UN, UNE (a).

This a countable noun.

La voiture est verte. The car is green.

Combien de .... y a-t-il? How many ... are there?
Il y en a ... There are ...

Combien de voitures y a-t-il? How many cars are there?
Il y en a sept. There are seven.

NB Don't forget the plural 's'.

Making sentences plural in French

La voiture est blanche. The car is white.
Les voitures sont blanches. The cars are white.

NB The plural ‘s’ is added to the noun and the adjective.

est is
sont are

NB Colours come AFTER the noun and have to agree with the noun they describe.
